Last month we began our new series on Education and Training in Child and Youth Care. With it we invited CYC-Net members to offer up their thoughts on some aspect of the Education and/or Training of Child and Youth Care Workers/Youth Workers. We invite all of you to consider submitting a short piece for this series. The original invitation is printed below so that you might see the ‘requirements’ – and realise that you too have the time and experience to contribute. ___________________________ THE ORIGINAL INVITATION Hello Everyone, We are introducing a new feature we would like to start this year on CYC-Net. What we would like to do is have a regular monthly feature on CYC-Online about the 'education and training of Child and Youth Care Workers. It would be intended as a stimulus series — each month we would like to post a short article/paper, think piece, story . . on, or about, the education and training of Child and Youth Care Workers which would serve as a thought provoker for other educators and trainers and those interested in the subject — whether as the facilitator or student of education and training. There is no desire on our part to create a definitive series on education and training rather just to offer up some stimulus for others interested in the area. So we write to you as someone interested in the education and/or training of child and youth care workers in the hope that you might be interested in helping us out by submitting a small paper (500 - 1000 words). Areas you might think about include:
In order to start such a series we would have to have a number of small papers ready so that we can be sure of continuing from month to month and, if only 12 or 15 of you decided you would contribute, then we would have enough for the first year. So, what about it? Can we count you in? Will you help us out here? In doing so you will be helping your colleagues at the same time. If you are interested and willing, please email Thom at garfat@videotron.ca and we will get right back to you.Brian and Thom
