Home cooking

When the youngsters have left our program — five, ten, twenty years hence — what will they remember about us? About our skills, our acceptance ... our cooking?
How many of us really know the way to a child's
heart? Here's where you get to share your ideas about meals and menus
which fitted the budget — and hit the mark.
One-eyed Jacks
A breakfast time variation which costs no more than an extra twinkle in
the eye.
Take a thick slice of bread to fry.
Cut out a 60mm (2 to 3 inch) square from the middle.
Drop the outer slice into the butter or cooking oil in a pan.
Fry the cut-out square separately.
When you turn the slice over, drop an egg into the hole.
Cook the egg according to the child's taste.
Serve. Place the little square at a raunchy angle on top.
(Think of other ideas for the little square — a dab of ketchup,
a sprig of parsley, a slice of lemon ... )
