READING FOR CHILD
AND YOUTH CARE WORKERS
INFORMATION PAGE

Writing for this on-line
magazine
CYC-ONLINE has been published at the
beginning of every month since February 1999, and it is beginning to
look like a survivor. It is part of the website of the International
Child and Youth Care Network (CYC-NET) which now receives more than eighty to
ninety thousand visitor sessions a month.
If you are —
-
a child and youth care worker, you will have
an experience, opinion, an idea, a story from practice which will be
useful to colleagues around the world
-
a teacher or trainer, you will have a
favourite illustration or anecdote, or a particular learning or reminder
you would like to share with readers
-
a child, youth or family member in touch
with child and family services, you may have helpful comment or feedback
for workers
-
a student either in a campus or a distance
learning situation, you will have concerns or new ideas of value to
fellow students or experienced workers
-
a manager or supervisor in a program, you
will have a viewpoint or insight of interest to people who do similar
work in the field
-
a policymaker or state administrator, you
will have an angle or information which practitioners in the field would
like to hear
-
anyone else — a writer, a volunteer, a board
member, an education or recreation part-timer — people read CYC-ONLINE because
they are interested in the field ...
Recently we have specially invited people
to submit writing in four additional categories which have proved
popular:
-
Tales from the field, stories, you know ...
-
Training in child and youth work, ideas, theories, models,
experiences ...
-
School-based (or other community-based) practice, e.g. hospital,
club ...
-
Supervision in all its aspects
The Editors will always welcome your
contribution and are most willing to help you get your ideas into words.
If your piece is a paragraph or several pages, no matter; if it is
serious, funny, instructive, moving, poetic, challenging, no matter.
Send your contribution to cyc-net@icon.co.za
any time. Copy deadline is the night before the next issue is published!
