CHILD & YOUTH CARE FORUM (formerly Child & Youth Care Quarterly) is an independent, professional publication committed to the improvement of child and youth care practice in a variety of day and residential settings and to the advancement of this field. Designed to serve child and youth care practitioners, their supervisors, and other personnel in child and youth care settings as well as instructors in the field, the journal provides a channel of communication and debate including material on practice, selection and training, theory and research, and professional issues.

Information for Authors

MANUSCRIPTS from day and residential child and youth care workers, supervisors, administrators, instructors and others in the field are invited and should be submitted to Dr. Jerome Beker, Editor, Child & Youth Care Forum, Youth Studies Program, School of Social Work, University of Minnesota, 386 McNeal Hall, 1985 Buford Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55108. Four copies of each manuscript should be submitted; if return of a manuscript is desired should it not be accepted for publication, please enclose a self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage. An abstract of about 100 words should be included with each copy. The entire manuscript, including any quotations, references, or tables, should be double-spaced, typed on one side of 8-1/2" by 11" paper. Margins should be ample. In general, style should conform to that found in the pages of the journal and, where appropriate, to that of the Publication Manual of the American Psyehological Association, 3rd Edition, 1983. Except in unusual cases, manuscripts should not exceed about 15-20 pages, and shorter ones are often preferable. Artwork, tables and/or figures should be included with the original manuscript and should be camera-ready (photocopies unacceptable).
