Qualifications sought:   Doctoral degree in a related field (doctoral candidates will be considered); Scholarly expertise in the area of child, youth, family and community studies; Demonstrated understanding of current issues facing Indigenous children, youth, families and communities; Demonstrated commitment to Indigenous pedagogies and methodologies; Professional practice experience with Indigenous children; parents/caregivers; families; and communities; Strong record of research and scholarship evidenced by research grants received, publications, presentations and work in progress; Evidence of effective teaching (i.e. course evaluation data, testimonials, and other forms of documentation) and competence in using diverse modalities, including: distance and distributed learning, on-campus teaching, and experiential learning.

Other Information:   In accordance with the University’s Equity Plan and pursuant to Section 42 of the BC Human Rights Code, the selection will be limited to Indigenous peoples. Candidates from this designated group must self-identify in their cover letter. This could include for example, providing information regarding one’s status under the Indian Act; affiliation and/or current connection with a First Nation, Inuit or Métis community; or a description of one’s family history that supports ancestral connection to an Indigenous group.
